Are you living life based on fear?

Or, are you living life on the basis of expanding your agency?

(Note: In the context of this post, agency means your actions, choices, and/ or freedoms.)

Asking the right questions is key in situations where one has to create an action plan to achieving one’s goal or dream. There is never a straightforward plan of action or answers to achieving the life of your dreams.

However, are you taking any steps to get closer to your dream life or are you getting closer to a life that others (family, culture, society) have planned for you? If we are financially constrained, there are obvious challenges involved in switching from what one is doing to what one wants to do. Remember that each and everyone of us have our own challenges. The question is not whether it is challenging or not, because that is a given.

So, let’s begin today. Decide on changing ONE thing for this month. Then, write two to three simple steps to achieving that ONE. Focus with great intention on the ONE and let the details work out on its own.

(Note: When changing anything in your life, do not get distracted or caught up with the details. Focus on acting on the change, and the details shall fall into its own place at its own accord.)

Here are a few quotes that I hope will motivate and encourage you through your journey.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. – Mark Twain

Of all the words of mice and men, the saddest are: “It might have been.” – Kurt Vonnegut

Greatness is not in where we stand, but in what direction we are moving. We must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it. But sail we must, and not drift, nor lie at anchor. – Leo Buscaglia

To Courage and Freedom! 😀

  1. Hi Rachael, I love the three quotes you listed : )

They’re words you learn to live by along the journey…

The words that impress our minds the most are those shared by a writer who has lived them.

We’re attracted to these words because they line up with the vision we have for our own lives – and we are destined to ‘live them’.

I see you spreading your wings on the social web… keep building, miss : )

  2. Living under the Yoke of Fear keeps one drifting and in Control of the DEVIL.
When we take control of own Thought fear will become non-existent.
Fear is only generated from the power of thought projected by others

    • Hello Chuck: Thank you for your insightful addition to fear. I am sure other readers will benefit from your comment. 😀

It is true that fear is mind-made, and the way I’ve experienced it, it is nothing more than an illusion.
