What is a strength?
It is something or an area in your life that you naturally excel in. It could be olympic lifting, drawing still-life, cooking, or being able to stay calm. As human beings, we have a natural tendency to very much enjoy activities that we are naturally good at. To be good at something means that we are also fully utilizing our strength.
For example: Jane is a social and friendly person who writes regularly on her blog, doesn’t find writing reports or emails for work burdensome, and is active in two social clubs in the city. Why is that? Because she has a strength in communication.
How to discover your strengths?
Simple! Purchase “Strengths Finder 2.0” by Tom Rath. (P.s.: I am not affiliated with Gallup Press). You can purchase this book at a local bookstore or online. This book will become your guide and reference. It offers practicals suggestions on ways you can continue to build on your strength.
Once you have discovered and learned about your strengths, you can take time to dig deeper into what really makes your heart sing!
What is the goal of this exercise?
The goal is to first, discover your strengths.
Second, learn how you can build on them.
And, third, use them in helping you find a compatible college major(s), your next career, business venture, or just complety kick-ass at your current position.
